About us

We are a small kennel based in Kent and have been owners and breeders of Cavalier King Charles

Spaniels for the past 15 years. We enjoy showing our dogs but they are part of our family living in the house at all times.  We ensure all of our dogs are fully heath tested before breeding from them testing for SM/CM, MVD, eyes, Episodic falling and Dry Eye/Curly Coat syndrome.

Whereas Hayley has been involved with dogs throughout much of her life and involved in the show scene as a Junior Handler for a number of years I had no experience of living with dogs or the show scene before our first dog.

Georgewade kennels started with Molly our first Cavalier who we were kindly allowed to buy from Diane Searle in 2008. Our choice of Cavaliers was completely dominated by Hayley who was adamant it was the breed she wanted!

Molly was a perfect entry for us onto the show scene competing successfully at a number of Open shows winning numerous Best Puppy's in breed and Best of Breeds with Hayley.

Molly had her first litter in September 2010. Out of six puppies five went on to pet homes and the sixth, Florence, has stayed with us.

In 2012 Corey came to live with us from the Avalcier Kennel. Thank you to Ming and Katherine Li firstly for letting us have this lovely boy and secondly for all your advice and support as we continue to get established in the show world.

Corey started his show career well qualifying for Crufts twice and achieving good results at the Championship shows he has entered. In December 2013 Corey achieved his Stud Book number at LKA and has lifetime entry for Crufts. Corey has one RCC to his name which he won at Richmond in September 2015.

Molly had her second litter in August 2013 having eight puppies in all. Dad of these puppies is our boy Corey. All of these puppies went to pet homes and we keep in touch with their owners. Some of these puppies are now doing well in agility competitions and obedience.

Florence had her first litter in December 2013 having six healthy puppies. Five of these puppies have now been sold and the final pup, a bitch called Megan, is now part of our regular show team.

Megan had a good start to her show career and earned her stud book number at Richmond in September 2015. She is lifetime qualified for Crufts.

Florence had her second litter in August 2015 and had 5 healthy puppies. The 4 boys went to pet homes and are all doing well. The only girl has stayed with us. Luna started her show career well and qualified for Crufts in 2017. She has been lightly shown through the end of 2016 and the start of 2017 as have our other dogs.

Florence had her third litter in August 2016 having two boys and two girls and for the first time having tricolours as well as Blenheims. All these pups moved to new owners and the Tri girl Bailey (now Purdy) has just started her show career.

Since this time we have had a number of new litters and our puppies have enriched and enlivened the homes of many new families, a lot of whom we are able to keep in touch with.

Sadly, we have lost two of our beloved girls in the last three years, Molly, our first dog, and Megan, in September 2023. However, our kennel remains established with Molly's Georgewade breeding line continuing through Betty and Albert, and with new blood brought in from fellow breeders in the form of Clover and Ebony.
